CD/DVD drive not working when Zinstall old desktop/zPOD is running
On some Windows installations, the CD/DVD drive is inaccessible while the Old Desktop / zPOD desktop is running.
In order to resolve this, you should disable autoplay for your CD/DVD drive on the both the old desktop/zPOD and the new/host desktop.
To disable autoplay, run the reg file from http://www.pcwinwin.co.uk/sto/tools/disable_autoplay.reg and restart your computer.
Alternatively, you can use the following instructions that only work on professional editions of Windows but do not require a restart:
On Windows XP:
- Go to Start > Run
- Run the command: gpedit.msc
- Go to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System
- Double click on "Turn off Autoplay" and select "Enabled".
On Windows Vista or Windows 7:
- Go to Start
- Type "Run" in the search box and press Enter
- Run the command: gpedit.msc
- Go to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Autoplay Policies
- Double click on "Turn off Autoplay" and select "Enabled".
