Old desktop / ZPOD is performing slowly

Slow performance of the Old desktop / zPOD either be caused by slow hardware or as a result of redundant, resource intensive software on either the host computer or the old desktop / zPOD.

To make sure that your hardware is fast enough to fully enjoy Zinstall - please make sure that it conforms to the recommend settings in the system requirements section.

If your hardware is fast enough and but performance is still poor, you should perform a performance tuning of both your host computer and the old desktop / zPOD.

Here are a few suggestions for performance tuning:

  1. On the host computer:
    1. Disable Windows Defender
    2. Disable scheduled scans of your Anti-Virus
    3. Disable scheduled disk defragmentation
  2. On the old desktop / zPOD:
    1. Uninstall any Anti-Virus or Firewall
    2. Disable Windows Desktop search
    3. Disable the Help and Support service
  3. To further improve performance:
    1. Run Windows Task Manager.
    2. Go to Processes tab.
    3. Find processes that have a high CPU usage value
    4. Stop the processes, and make sure they do not run on windows start using the "msconfig" tool.
